Minimum amount of posts per month?

maybe make it so users must post a few times a month?

maybe it would help move things a bit here

This is a problem all over. Perhaps there are to many sites. Too much free stuff.
Few people ever respond or give feedback.

I am a GMod at a site with 43K members and we have the same problem.
someone made a comment today as to how 'dead' it was.

Always the same members in the 'chatbox'

Thanks for the suggestions, but I doubt we could set it as a rule. We know its slow here and we are trying to "promote" the site with competition etc. Hang on there, we are hoping to make this a livelier site.

hmm what about adding like a NZB sharing forum? For large files that maybe hard for people to upload?

You are correct mate I own a forum and its the same for us 1000's of leechers all wanting to download but very little activity from them otherwise even a small donation or some shared links would be good, hell even a thank you from them would be a start.

I hate to say this, but there are people out there who only want to download movies, games, apps, etc; and don't want to take an active part in the community. There isn't anything you can really do about it, its a personal choice for the people on the forum. Although it would be nice to somehow make leeches take an active part in the forum, its just not something we can really make them do OR enforce.

I say give it some more time, if this turns out to be anything like MUF then we'll be fine. I always see some new faces in the cbox (well not faces but you get the idea) and the reason why is because 1. They are allowed to ask questions if in need of help (I think we should find some way to incorporate that into the site), 2. The cbox gives off a feel good vibe, people are always in there having conversations and having fun. 3. Trolls...yeah its gonna happen sooner or later.

But what I'm trying to get at (and probably repeating) is that if we can give this place a friendly vibe and an active feel, then they'll become active by themselves without us trying to force anything on them.
